TownePlace Suites by Marriott Alexandria Fort Belvoir

Stayed for 4 nights on the 2nd floor. Bathroom ventilation was nonfunctional so it isn’t really defecation-friendly unless your poop smells like roses. Heated pool and gym was nice. The complimentary breakfast was convenient. It was loud outside for 2 of the nights, not the best place for peaceful sleep if you wake easily.

This hotel is not the quality of a Marriott product. Walls are thin and you can hear someone walking on the floor above. Even heard someone coughing. Surprised to learn they don’t service the rooms but once a week. We weren’t informed of this and needed some fresh towels. Sheets were extremely thin and poor quality. Water not hot - we turned up the shower all the way and got warm ( not hot) water. Slow internet. Signs in the room requesting tips. Breakfast was good, though but not the hotel itself. Will not stay here again!

Positive: The room was spacious and the layout was nice. Having the kitchenette was convenient. It was very close to George Washington's Mt. Vernon. Negative: The bathtub did not drain properly. There were four of us and not enough towels upon our arrival. The toilet seat was damaged and looked like it had wet toilet paper stuck too it. We arrived at 4pm and had to wait to check in.

I can't say enough nice things about Melinda at the front desk. She has the sweetest disposition and is very conscious of giving great customer service. This is my go to hotel when travel from North to South and I have stayed her on multiple occassions. Recently a family member had a medical emergency and she assisted immediately with getting my family the help we needed. We are now back in town for another event and I have referred all my family traveling here to stay at this establishment and they all have told me that their check in experience with Melinda has been the friendliest they've had. Room had a strange faint odor of old age home. Breakfast was good. Service was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to restaurants, pharmacy. Would definitely stay here again.
