Tourway Inn of Birmingham

The owners have clearly spent money on renovating the rooms, nice new comfortable mattress and new furniture and fittings. I can’t fault the cleanliness of the place and the staff were nice. Sadly however, this was a rest stop on a long drive. The whole purpose was to sleep. This didn’t happen. The whole night long people were revving loud car engines in the parking lot. Loud music, screaming and shouting, smoking drugs and drinking. This appears to be a boy racers hang out. Police arrived twice in the early hours and then the noise continued. I think I managed about 3 hours sleep the whole night. The motel is just off the Interstate so that also adds to the noise. There is renovation going on so hopefully it will improve. It was too pricy for the poor location and the room was not clean. The sheets amd towels were stained. The tv had four or so channels.

I don’t understand why they would rent out rooms mid renovation. The mattress still had the plastic for the manufacturer on it. The shower curtain wouldn’t even reach the tub one of my worst hotel experiences ever.

Positive: It was close to my job Negative: It had roaches half cleaned it lamp didn't work and I left my blanket behind literally called 45 mins later only to be told no one found a king size white blanket ok? I know my fault but come on

It’s not in the best area of Birmingham and the perimeter of the property is enclosed by unsightly wire fencing that gives prison vibes. I was just passing through and needed a cheap place to stay for the night and it served me just fine. Aesthetically, it’s not attractive, but the water was hot and the bed was clean.
