Topaz Lodge

I don’t typically write negative reviews, but after my recent stay at Topaz Lodge, I feel it’s important to warn others. We booked this motel for $100 a night, which felt like a complete rip-off considering the quality of the room. Honestly, this place should be priced at no more than $50 per night.|The only positive aspect of this stay was the location. It was super convenient for the concert we were attending, and being right across from the park was great for walking our dog. But beyond that, the experience was far from acceptable.|The room was absolutely filthy. As a house cleaner myself, I expect a basic level of cleanliness, and this place did not meet even the most minimal standards. Im not sure why people post that there is hotel staff at this location. Since arriving i have seen zero staff. They do have a front office but it doesn't look like its been used in 10 years. The rooms haven't been updated in 20 years or more. The beds were clean but that was about it. Shower has scum on walls. Toilet is non functioning in my room. Windows dirty. Back door has boards keeping it closed. The only modern amenities are a microwave mini fridge and tiny flat screen TV. Found open condom rappers under one of the bed as well as lots other grime. The only communication from staff is done via text message. Very unprofessional. Exterior isnt maintained in the least. Avoid this place if possible

Positive: The rooms have been remodeled and they're nice but the carpet is disgusting. I would not walk on it with bare feet Negative: The carpet needs to be replaced. It is disgusting and gross. The manager is a jerk. We were checking out right at noon and he stood outside and watched us pack up our car while tapping his foot and checking his watch.

One of the reviews for this place was don't judge the book by the cover. So true. The place does have some draw backs but for a one or 2 night stay that's economical, it fits the bill. This motel is not staffed. Everything is remote, but seemed efficient. No ice, no vending, no free breakfast/coffees. Room was funky 1950s but upgraded. It is right at edge of the downtown scene. Bathrooms were newly and nicely remodeled. Nice towels! Real coffee pot but tasteless coffee like all places. Window sills need cleaning.

I often just wonder how places like this remain in business. This place is quite a low-down experience. Old, outdated, and just creepy! They try to hide the dust and dirt as much as they might think they can, but this place is basically a dump. This place is lost in the 60's and it shows. Board across doors and windows, curtain in the bathroom hiding the grossness. Moldy grout everywhere. Effing old crummy fixtures etc. The list goes on. The biggest plus is, the bed was actually comfortable, but everything else sucked. Down-right just dirty! Just bypass this place. Whatever might be said on Expedia or any other one of these booking companies might have say to glorify this place, don't believe it. Unless you don't mind trashy, this place is for you.
