I love this campground please don’t change it or pave it. I went camping there in August and want to return yearly. It’s so beautiful and well maintained! Please don’t ruin it by paving roads and restrooms etc. I love how a jerk and peaceful and nice this place is.

If you are considering this campground there are definitely pros and cons. It is ideally located to several trailheads into the national forest. But the campground has problems. When we were camping in August of 2015 one (of two) water pumps was broken. So one pump served about 50 camp sites. Plus, the water that came out of that pump was disgusting. It tasted and smelled like rust AND it actually had particles that appears to be rust in it. After the first day we could not stomach the taste and just filtered water from the river. We stayed for 5 nights and the campground host only bothered to sweep out the toilets once. Almost ran out of toilet paper too. Look, I don't expect luxury at a campground but for $20 a night I want water and reliable toilet paper. I've stayed at USFS campgrounds

It was our first time at this campground and we really liked it. Our site was so private and even moose stopped by. The camp host couple was amazing. I saw them working so hard around. Unfortunately, we could not hike what we planned as trails were still covered with snow (May 25), but had great views over the Cottonwood pass and relaxed in the hot springs nearby. Definitely will return.

Campground hosts were awesome! A group took the last FF site while we were trying to pay for it. We ended up at a BLM site and the hosts found us to let us know of a new campsite opening and wanted to offer it to us. Campground had the cleanest vault toilets I’ve ever used. Roads could use some work (lots of potholes) and the campsite did have a bunch of ants but it was manageable. Neither water pump seemed to work at the time but a great experience nonetheless.

We accidently paid to much for our site and the staff notified us and gave us our money back. Much appreciated! 👏🏻 Sites are a good distance apart and the location is nice. Tucked away but not too far of a drive from town. About 20 mins or so to Buena Vista.
