Surf Hotel & Residences

For the price this hotel charges, I expected more in these areas - 1. - No cable or satellite TV. The only option was to use a streaming service that YOU had credentials for. If you didn't have a streaming service, your out of luck for TV. 2. - Weekend breakfast opens at 9:00am??? Really. We were checking out at 9:00am, so no breakfast for us. 3 - Had coffee in the lobby, supposedly, but when I went for coffee, sadly non was available. Went to the restaurant, for coffee, sorry... No coffee available until we open at 9:00. Drove to the Loves gas station for coffee. 4 - Wanted to enjoy coffee in the heated saltwater poo before we checked out... Sorry, that's closed until 9:00am as well. 5 - Wanted to use the $20 credit they gave us for breakfast... Not open until 9:00am, so we just thr

Positive: Centrally located, boutique experience, coffee and tea in the room, simple but eloquent room accommodations. Negative: The hanger pole was missing the end peg to keep the clothes from sliding off. Simple fix.

Great building in a great location. But completely let down by ridiculously poor furnishings and facilities in the room - we booked a Nola suite. The bed has a cheap mattress and was sensationally uncomfortable. The furniture was a rag bag of cheap IKEA tables and, bizarrely, a Parisian-style cafe table and two chairs. There was no closet, the curtains were falling off the rails. Even the lighting was poor - either glaring or non existent. Housekeeping even forgot to clean the room after the first night. So, this is one or maybe two-star at best. Away from the room, down the hallway carpet with mogul-sized lumps in it, the restaurant is fun and the food is good. Such a pity the rooms are so awful. Really expected better.

Had the opportunity to stay at The Surf Hotel for a night - wow, what a beautiful experience. The entire space feels magical - thoughtfully curated and full of character. From the moment you walk in, it’s like being transported back in time. Communication with the hotel was excellent. They text you before arrival to start the check-in process, which makes everything super easy and convenient. You can also text them directly for any requests or questions, a really nice touch. The rooms are stunning, and the wraparound balcony with rocking chairs is the cherry on top. Waking up to the sound of the river flowing below was incredibly peaceful and serene. I love this hotel so much. Excellent service, amenities and the Wesley & Rose is such a fun spot to eat at. My only qualms are with the bedding. It's made out of the most slippery material and I was fighting for my life every night of my stay. The fitted sheet constantly slips off and the comforter and pillows bunch up in the middle of their covers. Given the way everything else is presented at this beautiful property, I would love to see some higher-quality, more comfortable sheets.
