The Zevely Inn

This is an attractive historic inn in a great location. It has very authentic historical decor and furnished tastefully.It’s in the center of the historic walking Moravian district. The Moravian district is a unique experience. It’s a restored Moravian village dating back to the the 17 th century with guides dressed in Moravian costumes everywhere who will tell you about the social history of each building. There is an old tavern that George Washington slept in, a gunsmith shop that makes old fashioned breach loaders, a Moravian schoolhouse and a silver smith to name but a few. It also 15 mins drive from the RJ Reynolds mansion and museum which is well worth visiting.|The innkeeper, Sherry, is one of the rudest and most forbidding innkeepers I’ve very encountered. We booked this B&B in order to keep our money local instead of feeding it to the larger chains which we have done in the past. Best decision ever! The room we slept in was amazingly cozy and comfortable, with a huge gas fireplace to keep the room warm along with two other heating sources, and the bathroom had had atlantean quantities of hot water in the shower which is a huge selling point for me. The landlady was charming and gracious and puts on an amazing breakfast. I would stay here anytime! I'd give her 10 Stars if I could.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here while visiting family. Our room was charming, cozy, and warm (14 degrees outside). Breakfast was delicious (and we're picky eaters). Cherie was a wonderful host, had great recommendations for nearby places to eat. She made us feel like we were visiting an old friend (now a new friend!) Will definitely return.

Everything about our experience at The Zevely Inn was great! Ms. Cherie was a kind and gracious hostess, and the atmosphere of the inn was quaint and cozy. The room, John Henry, was very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the street outside. We will definitely be back to stay in some of the other rooms!

I shared the Zevely room with my daughter and it was the perfect size and lovely! This is one of the rare historical inns that makes the extra effort to be authentic. Instead of cheap imitations, the rooms were filled with genuine antiques, beautiful fabrics and legit reproductions. They even spared us that horrible, flat, white LED lighting and used warm LED lights throughout - keeping the experience so lovely and so much more pleasant. It's in a very quiet neighborhood so we slept like rocks! Bring your own pillow if you like them soft and squishy but otherwise it's a very comfortable bed! The innkeeper was so nice and she makes a very nice breakfast in the morning. We would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! Thank you!!
