The Whaler's Inn Hotel of Mystic

This was our second stay at The Whaler’s Inn - first time was just pre-pandemic, but we had been wanting to return for 5 years! This time was only one night, but another really lovely experience. Every staff member we dealt with was friendly, courteous, & helpful. Our room in the Hoxie House (one of several buildings that comprise the Inn) was spacious, comfortable, clean, & very nicely decorated. The location is wonderful - central Mystic right outside & a short walk across the historic bridge, restaurants & shops all around, & other attractions (Seaport Museum, etc.) either walkable or a short drive depending on your abilities/choice. The Whalers Inn is a fabulous place to stay! Mystic is a wonderful place to visit and dine! Rachel at the front desk was so friendly and very welcoming after our long drive. She showed us to a beautiful room. The next day we had the pleasure of meeting Roger the general manger and Brian who funs the front desk during the day. It is not often we come across a place like the whalers Inn. The staff's commitment to service and hospitality far exceeds other hotels. The rooms are immaculate and beautiful. The vibe is exhilarating and the staff couldnt be nicer! We cant wait to return!

The place is way overpriced. We thought we’d be getting a luxurious room, but the closet at my own home is bigger. It’s impossible to turn off the fan unless you turn off the light? The paper products are a little bit better than sandpaper. I had a hard time sleeping as our room was on the front by the street. The staff was very, very nice and did give me a white noise machine. The staff was the nicest part of the Stay. I guess it’s what you deal with when you’re in a tourist town.

I had a wonderful stay at The Whaler’s Inn. The staff were welcoming and kind, the location is perfect, the room was very comfortable, and everything was spotless. During our visit, my son experienced a seizure and became unsettled. Out of courtesy to other guests, I went to check out early, fully understanding and expecting that their no-refund policy would apply. To my surprise, the staff showed great compassion and refunded the room without me asking. This gesture of kindness went above and beyond and meant a lot to us. It’s rare to find a hotel that not only provides an excellent stay but also genuinely cares about its guests. I’m deeply grateful and will certainly return.
