We loved our recent stay at the Captain’s Mansion! It was warm, cozy, and comfortable. The rooms were beautiful and very clean, and the staff was very attentive. The house had obviously been lovingly restored back to its original grandeur, but still keeping the original beautiful features. The widow’s walk was an amazing place to sit with a beautiful view. We will absolutely be going back!
As appropriate in “Mystic Pizza” the Captain’s Mansion was truly a slice of heaven. ||I was in town for business for the Mystic film festival and couldn’t have picked a better place. I can’t wait to come back with my wife!||The staff were beyond friendly, with fantastic manager Nancy at the helm who gave lay of the land and lots of great recommendations in town including a direct line to make a reservation to S&P Oyster which was spectacular. ||Stayed in Bascule Bridge Suite which was perfect with a balcony and spacious room. Only negative was no desk but that’s on me as should have looked closer for a business trip as some of the rooms do appear to have desks. ||Immaculately clean throughout. The history and charm of the mansion itself was unique and special. ||The 24 hour pantry with com
My husband and I just spent two nights here. This historical building is absolutely gorgeous, with large public rooms on the ground floor. Our room was pretty, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff is lovely and very helpful. It's in a quiet location yet within easy walking distance of downtown Mystic. They provide a continental breakfast in the morning in a pleasant dining room that looks out over the garden.
The Captains Mansion in Mystic is a dream. A magnificent restoration on a ship captains historic home is worth a visit in and of itself. The art, furnishings and rooms are all top-notch and decorated in a colorful, classic style; it’s maybe a 5-7 minute walk to the Mystic bridge and downtown. The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable, and because it’s not right downtown and on a side-street it’s very private and quiet. It’s actually a fair cost for what you’re getting though it does get more expensive during the popular seasons - but so does everything else. They had an amazing dining promotion for one of the restaurants that we took advantage of as well. The Steamboat Inn is a sister property and also very nice, but this is almost an entire level above, especially for experienced tr
This beautifully restored mansion is magnificent. It is filled with architectural detail and tastefully decorated with period furniture and sailing artwork. Our room was comfortable and quiet, though you should be prepared to climb one or two long flights of stairs as was the style in that era. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend. We'll be back!
