Holiday Inn Express Mystic - Groton Area by IHG

It's so convenient for the hotel to be walking distance from Olde Mistick Village and the Aquarium. Plenty of restaurants are just a short walk away and I-95 is just up the street. Basic amenities such as TV, microwave and cooler are provided in the rooms and having there are Ice machines, a small gym, Pool, Laundry room, and even an ATM in the building. Beds are super comfy and clean, with the room being open and spacious. Complimentary breakfast is also provided! The hallways can be a bit creaky and some outlet plugs are loose or very finicky with giving power in a certain position. The cooler doesn't really cool food unless its in the designated holder where ice surrounds it. It also took a bit to figure out how to turn the window shades up and down. Our room was clean and large. Bed comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was typical but with good cinnamon rolls and pancakes that were made as you waited. Glad to have fruit and yogurt. The breakfast room needs updated furniture as most chairs were ripped or tattered. Good location and easy to find. I’d try a different hotel if we returning to Mystic. Didn’t try the pool … looked dark and unappealing.

Stayed there with my fiancé and our 3 kids and we loved it! The room was clean, big enough for all 5 of us, and we had everything we needed. If I had to say one negative thing, the people above us had a child that ran back and forth at night and in the morning so it was a little loud, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. Pool was great for the kids. All of us LOVED the continental breakfast and looked forward to it every morning. Location was perfect, right across the street from the shops and aquarium and only 15 minutes from Foxwoods. We will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is conveniently located right across from Olde Mistick Village, which we love visiting for the Holiday Lights Spectacular. It’s also just a short drive from Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, and many great restaurants. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. I’ve stayed here twice, and both times the room was clean, great job to the housekeeping team. I’ve been to many Holiday Inn Express locations, and while they all offer similar breakfasts, the one here feels better prepared and tastes fresher. I especially love the fancy coffee makers that grind fresh beans for each brew. The breakfast area is also very well maintained. I’ll definitely be back.

We stayed last month for a few days. The staff were amazing! Beyond nice & helpful. We did have an issue with the first room’s lock, we were instantly switched to another room no waiting. The room was very clean, fully stocked. We did not use the included breakfast or the pool but both areas looked clean & nice. We loved that it was right across the street from mystic village. Will definitely stay here again when we go back!
