The Publisher, Downtown Fredericksburg, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

This hotel is stunning! Very well designed and decorated. A nice touch in Fredericksburg. We loved our room and balcony! Dee made our check in experience lovely! She was super sweet and accommodating. Great customer service. There was also a very kind gentleman who took over after her on Saturday 1/17! The only note for improvement is that one of the restrooms downstairs in the lobby was out of order all weekend and it smelled like death in there.

We had a wonderful stay at the Publisher Tribute Hotel. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spotless, and very comfortable. Every detail—from the décor to the amenities—felt thoughtful and well maintained. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and Biz at the front desk deserves special mention for being so accommodating and genuinely pleasant every day. We had breakfast both days and it was delicious ! We truly appreciated the warmth and professionalism of the entire team and would gladly stay here again.

My husband and I and two other couples had the pleasure of a holiday overnight at the Publisher Hotel last night. Five stars, for sure. The hotel front desk staff ( Thank you both) were warm and helpful. The vibe of the hotel itself is beautiful, the lobby was classy, warm and welcoming. We caught happy hour at the bar and sat in a cozy booth and chatted. Service was wonderful …attentive but never made us feel rushed. Our room was beautiful, and the bed was so comfortable.||Look forward to staying again, soon.

After a difficult check in process due to multiple events co-occurring unrelated to my stay and impeding timely room access I was initially dismayed that the “cute” and “trustworthy Marriott” I booked might be a mistake. I couldn’t have been more wrong - not only did our stay exceed my initial expectations at booking but I’ve also recommended this hotel to friends and family since visiting. First, the lobby and rooms are well appointed with fashionable furniture and fixtures. The bathroom is outfitted with Frette robes and Marriott mid range soaps that smell AMAZING. The hallways and lobby have a different signature scent that adds a level of ambiance and charm to the space. The room was quiet, remarkably clean, and in generally excellent condition. We had such an amazing stay and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about The Publisher. From the second we walked in, everything felt beautiful, clean, and so welcoming. I can’t say enough amazing things about Matthew, he went above and beyond for us. His customer service was next level. Very attentive, kind, professional, and just genuinely warm. You can tell he truly cares about guests having the best experience possible. He made everything feel seamless and special. The location is perfect it’s close to everything, super convenient, and has such a beautiful vibe. The food and drinks were incredible. Everything was fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully.
