Hampton Inn & Suites Fredericksburg South

I booked a reservation at this hotel for a room with two queen beds 10 days prior to arrival. One day prior to arrival I checked in and selected a room. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told the hotel was oversold and there was not a room with two beds available. We had to take a room with one king bed and a pull out sofa. I was traveling with my 81 year old father. I gave him the bed and I suffered a sore back on the pull out sofa. The room was very small with the sofa pulled out. We could not even fit a chair at the desk. This hotel overbooks. Do not trust your reservation. I will certainly not book here again.

Last minute stay and the hotel was busy. Room had a very weird set up and smelled awful. Can’t even describe what it was. The hotel is in need of some major updating, cracked floors, elevator not working etc…just all in all not what you would expect for 175 a night. I have always loved Hampton’s but they aren’t the same anymore. And now all of them pet friendly which is hard on us dog allergic people… Couldn’t wait to leave. Was there for 12 hours. Only positive was the breakfast eggs were pretty good and the staff were friendly.

This review is specifically for the front desk lady. I think her name is Serena? She had the best, most welcoming personality. This weekends wedding party really appreciated her. Thank you Serena for being so awesome! Your personality and is infectious. Salam wa alaikum!

Customer service was excellent, rooms were clean and I felt the location was safe and close to gas, restaurants and stores. Please avoid Chipotle if you can. Legends Grill across the street from the hotel has good food (cheese burgers, french fries and onion rings) and service. No free refills of soda. Other than that my friend and I really enjoyed going there.
