What an amazing hotel! Reminds me of some boutique hotels we have been to. Beautiful art and antiques throughout the common areas and rooms. There was a high attention to detail evident, the room was clean and everything was in good repair. A very unique experience.

A rare find on our drive from the Outer Banks to Florida. We loved the preserved elements of the former bank including our guest room in the office of the former trust officer and the drinks/snacks in the vault. Stephanie as an incredible host and gave us a wonderful tour of the facility. We were able to park next to the building. They were hosting a wedding party so we were unable to see the other guest rooms. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Nice amenities in the room. A little pricey but not unexpected for a boutique hotel of this quality. We loved it! ||We also took a walk around the Mother Earth Motor Lodge in town. Super cool! ||Side note: on our recent drive through town we tried the Harp & Dill Bar & Grill for dinner. Delicious fish tacos and Santa Fe special burger with chili, jala

My wife and I along with three other friends stayed at the O'Neil for two nights while we were out of town celebrating my wife's 40th birthday. The O'Neil is such a unique hotel since it was formerly a bank. The lobby is so cool with ornate furniture, interesting pictures, a beautiful ornate ceiling, and the drink station is in the old vault. We were met at the front desk by Christopher who was absolutely delightful and clearly in the correct field of hospitality. The rooms were spacious, well equipped, clean, and the bathrooms were nice. Certainly a better experience than staying at a regular chain hotel. Less than one block away from the Chef and the Farmer restaurant, this was a great location. If ever back in the area, my wife and I will definitely stay at the O'Neil again.

Every year we meet friends for a week at the beach and we always stop Friday night at a hotel and have dinner. We are now in our 60's. Luckly still in good health, but this could have been handled so much better.||One week before our reservation Management switched my room and a friend from Mother Earth Motor Lodge to the O'Neal because they over booked. Then they called us on the way to NC from Pennsylvania to tell us they didn't have any parking because there was a festival in town, and we were on our own. I asked to talk to a manger who wasn't available. I was given her phone number, and she never returned my call. No one was available that evening or the next morning. We were promised pastries in the Lobby for breakfast and that didn't happen either. What is really sad was our r

Conceptually, this hotel is an excellent idea. There are not any luxury hotels in this Eastern Carolina area and it can definitely use one. The hotel is clean, it has an interesting story, it is central to almost any place in the region. Unfortunately, it is also overpriced and while it has an elegant appearance at first glance, much of the furniture/rugs are ragged/worn and in need of replacement. For example, there is a lovely sitting area above the vault. However, the cushions are so worn and flattened that the seats are incredibly uncomfortable and unsittable. Outlets don't work. Toilet seats don't stay up. It also has the feel of a place that doesn't have many visitors - there are limited visiting and things to do options, so I don't hold this against the hotel. However, at
