The Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina

We come to Newport every year for our anniversary and usually stay at Hammetts but it had no availability, so we decided to try Newport harbor hotel and marina, mainly for its location. Over all, it was decent. ||Highlights were the hospitality staff’s professionalism and courtesy despite it being a hectic weekend, as well as the location. We were steps away from all of our favorite places!||Lowlights were probably the extremely potent marjuana smoke smell in the hall just outside our room when we checked in— not the hotel’s fault and when I brought it to the attention the staff they said they would address it right away (the smell was vaguely in our room so I think it was the people on the other side of the adjoining door smoking), we had a walk out room on the first floor and were able t

The manager Michael Scott was absolutely amazing! We booked for 4 nights but wanted a room with a better view, and he went above and beyond to make it happen. He was so kind, friendly, and accommodating the entire time, which made our stay even better. Highly recommend this hotel! wish the rooms didnt have carpet though. the rooms are little outdated but still clean.. the LOCATION and staff was perfect!!! also wish they had an outdoor pool. but hey.... location location location

The guest room felt noticeably outdated, especially compared to the quality and comfort I have experienced in the past. I understand that properties evolve over time, but the room’s condition did not reflect the level of care or modern amenities typically associated with your hotel. Noise issue at 4 a.m. & unpleasant fragrance in lobby & hallway. Reached out to management with no response.

Positive: The location is perfect. There is convenient parking right on site and it's within walking distance from everything in the Newport harbor area. Our room had a harbor view, and we saw an amazing sunset right from the room. Negative: My only issue with the hotel, very thin walls. It did not end up being disruptive to our trip, but the walls are very thin, and noise from inside a room can be heard from multiple rooms away.

If your looking for location this place is amazing but the rooms are outdated and feels like 1998 in there. Bathrooms / Showers are gross and rooms have first generation small flatscreen TVs with basic cable. Extremely overpriced for the rooms you are getting and wish we paid more to stay at another property
