The Kelly Birmingham, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I stayed at The Kelly Birmingham, Tapestry Collection by Hilton while in town for a major career-related event January 17th -18th 2026, and unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. I arrived around 4:50 PM—nearly two hours after check-in time—and was told my room had not yet been cleaned and I would need to wait. I waited approximately 30 minutes, during which time several guests who arrived after me were checked in immediately and escorted to their rooms. The desk attendant even offered for us to sit at the bar for drinks, we declined as our time was limited. This delay put me behind schedule for an important event. such a beautiful hotel (extra points for the BATHROOM), and within easy walking distance of our concert venue. both the front desk ladies and the bartender Steve was on point!!!! made the bestest of drinks before and after the concert. hard to find a bartender/server with an actual personality and not all smiles and yes maams these days (though he wasn’t short on either) if i ever had a concert in birmingham again i would 100% stay here again!!!!

This hotel experience was by far the worst my husband and I have ever experienced. We arrived an hour after check in began, and were told our room wasn’t ready. The room not being ready was an inconvenience yes, but that wasn’t the problem for us. The problem was the rude, dismissive, un-accomadating behavior by the front desk staff. They did not give us an estimated time for the room, people who were arriving after us were getting their rooms. We waited 45 minutes for our room. We were made to rush for the event that we were in town for. When we finally were called for our room, the lady who checked us in… said “it was me who called you over here, insert your card” I tap my card. The valet staff was the best part of our stay. The room was completely disproportionate. The bedroom area was rather small while the bathroom was large but not well appointed. There was no towel rack near the shower and still only one hook. No toilet paper in the room upon arrival. No luggage rack. Bathroom floor was filthy, in fact, I threw my slippers away instead of packing them to bring home because they were black on the bottom. The shower leaked onto the floor and the outlet came off the wall when I removed the plug for the hairdryer. I gave 2 stars because the valet was great and the bed was somewhat comfortable. I wish I could say more positive things but I simply cannot. This place needs some TLC. We are Hilton Honors and have stayed at many of the other Hilton properties in Birmi
