The Inn On Main

My husband and I were in town for the pony swim & auction. We enjoyed the quiet & relaxing week. We used the grill for cooking breakfast & dinners. We spent time at the pool simply relaxing - this is not action packed hotel but the owner was friendly and the staff were friendly and helpful. We intend to return to this location.

The Inn on Main is a quaint, quiet & convenient spot to chill between adventures on Chincoteague. The rooms are clean & updated with retro touches. We had everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. The staff is also friendly and accommodating.

Very nice stay on the island. Rooms clean and decorated very cutely and each one is themed. Parents stayed in the turtle room, we stayed in the adjacent flamingo room. Parking is limited in lot, has on street parking as well. No phones in the rooms but there are microwaves, small fridge, coffee maker, soaps and such and the rooms are very clean and smell fresh. TV with cable and really comfy beds! If asked if we'd stay here again, YES!

I love this place. It's my second visit, and it's first rate. The rooms are designed with convenience in mind, and modernity. They're clean. The mattress was great. The service was great. And they agreed to a late check-out since they didn't need the room that night. Will you hear a little noise from the street, or the neighbors? Yes, at times. But this place doesn't attract party animals, at least not on the weekdays when I was there. It also does not allow pets, which is sad for animal lovers (which I AM) but good for allergy-sufferers, which I also am.

If you plan on staying here bring a fly swatter. I must have killed 50+ flies in my room in the three days I stayed here. Also bring a cover for your eyes if you want to sleep: the curtains are so thin and cheap they might as well be nonexistent. That plus being right on the road made for difficult nights (it was very very noisy). Our front door was really hard to lock and was not sealed properly so lots of light (and flies I guess) came in. There’s hardly any parking and what parking there is is dirt and sand and tracks all into the room. The appliances (fridge and microwave) are very cheap and didn’t work well. I knew it wouldn’t be “hotel quality” but I don’t think this was worth the cost. I won’t be staying here again. Only perk is that it’s on Main Street so it’s close to a lot of st
