Watson House

Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Watson Guest House, taking a weekend getaway on Chincoteague/Assateague Island , Virginia. We have stayed at B+B’s literally across the country. I have to say that Watson House ranks among my favorites. The house is beautifully furnished and the rooms are all lovely (Anytime we stay at a B+B, we try to peek into the other untaken rooms to see what they are like, and all of the rooms at the Watson House looked great). ||We stayed in the Bayview, with a queen sized bed with a carved head and footboard. The bed is very comfortable, however it is rather tall, and my wife had a bit of a challenge climbing in at night. Breakfast was PHENOMENAL! There was a full spread from an egg bake to fluffy Belgium waffles with fresh cut fruit. Very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Bicycles, body boards and other beach equipment is available to guests for use during their stay. Rooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries. Great location also! Located right on Main St after the bridge.

Beautiful house with lovely rooms. We had the front porch room and were very pleased. Comfortable bed and a sitting room. A small refrigerator is in the room.||Wonderful homemade breakfast and each day was a treat. Snacks and coffee are available throughout the day.||Note: bring your own soap and shampoo.

This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a BNB. We were impressed. We were here during pony penning week. The Watson House is a great place. I suppose the correct term is "quaint". The hosts, Annette and Jeff, were great. The breakfast's were awesome, especially the SOS (if you were in the military you'll know what this is). Our room was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you Annette and Jeff for a great stay.

We visited Memorial Day weekend for a mini babymoon. Before leaving we realized that the inn was under new ownership which made me a little weary as we chose the place based on the good reviews. That's said we had an amazing time and the new owners were wonderful. The inn was in great shape and the breakfast was delicious. They also thoughtfully kept snacks down in the breakfast area for if we got peckish during the day/night.||The owners are also very knowledgeable about the island and things to do.||The location of the inn was perfect. They have bikes available for use but we brought our own and spent two days biking all over the island. We ate breakfast on the front porch where there is a nice breeze and there were adorable ducks waddling around the garden both days that we were there.|
