The Helm House

Sarah is a great host and makes you feel at home. We had a few questions pop up and Sarah was very attentive and timely with any need during our stay. The Helm House was a hit for our wedding weekend and provides us a few days to relax prior to our wedding at Spruce Point Inn. Wish we could have stayed hear for the wedding but being on site was a necessity for wedding. Very cozy NE style home with great decks to visit w friends and family. Overlooks harbour and easy walk to our favorite cocktail and apps at the Tugboat rooftop you can see off back deck and walkable to everything downtown. No need to use your car once you get hear. Best part is a nightly cocktail on the roof deck to see sunsets and sites of Boothbay Harbor. Great kitchen that has everything you need for drinks or yo

This was my second stay at The Helm House in Boothbay Harbor and both were nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning ocean views, charming coastal décor, and the peaceful atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and stocked with every amenity we could have possibly needed. The location couldn’t be better! It is just a short walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor, with its great restaurants, shops, and waterfront activities. We loved sipping our morning coffee while watching the boats come and go. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing great local recommendations and making sure everything about our stay was perfect. We had a wonderful stay at the Helm House in Boothbay Harbor, Maine in October. The temperatures were enjoyable after the summer heat and the foliage was beautiful! We visited the Botanical Gardens and the temperatures were great for hiking. The view from the top deck at the Helm House was amazing! The view from the living room and bedrooms was amazing too. The Helm House surpassed our expectations. Everything you needed for amenities was there. Sarah and Matt go above and beyond to provide their guests with a wonderful experience. The decor was beautiful, and the super cleanliness was much appreciated. We can't wait for our next trip. We will be back!!

My mom, sister and I stayed at Helm House to celebrate my mother’s milestone birthday, and everything was absolutely perfect! Not only is the house immaculately appointed and ideally situated within walking distance of all Boothbay Harbor has to offer, Sarah kindly put up a Happy Birthday banner and left us some other treats that we thoroughly enjoyed! She is a most gracious hostess and extremely communicative. The personal touches throughout the house (she has thought of literally EVERYTHING to ensure guests’ comfort!) as well as for our specific stay were the icing on an already incredible cake! Can’t wait to relive all of the wonderful memories we created at this very special home. We are already planning our return!

I don’t normally write reviews but I can’t help myself this time! Our recent stay with three couples at The Helm House was wonderful! The views of the bay from the rooftop were amazing and we spent time star gazing and relaxing. The house itself is well appointed and tastefully decorated. It’s clearly designed to meet everyone’s needs! We had a short walk to restaurants and shops to enjoy throughout our stay. I highly recommend!
