The Goodwin Hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Goodwin Hotel in Hartford, CT! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel welcomed right away and continued to go above and beyond throughout our stay. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they truly made it special by leaving us wine and chocolates with a sweet, thoughtful note. That extra touch meant so much to us and set the tone for a perfect stay. The hotel itself is stunning — the decor is beautiful and thoughtfully done. Our room was immaculate, and the cleanliness was truly superb. Everything felt fresh, spotless, and well cared for. We stayed here for 2 nights in October and had a lovely King Suite on the 5th floor. It was a very spacious room with windows overlooking the street. It was quiet and clean and full of all the usual amenities. It's an old building that connects to another building so there are very long hallways with a few steps up or down. There's also 3 elevators. The continental breakfast was basic (coffee was nice & strong!) but the room that it is served in was very nice. The hotel is close to the Capital, sports arena, and many good restaurants. It's a big, beautiful building with a very small lobby. Park on the street for free on the weekends but beware of parking garages that may not open until later the next day. It might be best to valet. We would stay here again and would recommend it to family

The room was nicely decorated, but I was surprised by the issues. It was located at the very end of the hallway and faced into an interior atrium courtyard with a skylight. The atrium was about 10’ wide and bare, so basically we faced a white wall. I found it dark and very claustrophobic. We had to turn all the lights on in the middle of the day. Other issues included stuffy air, the bathroom fan being broken; weak shower pressure, thin walls (we could hear conversations, slamming doors, and tv’s); and a not terribly comfortable bed that moved every time one of us moved—swaying like a waterbed. There was a nice tea kettle but no place to plug it in—we had to move it to the nightstand. Finally, the floor was sticky. I guess I expected more from what should be a high end experience. The high

Positive: "" Negative: The bed was terrible. We couldn't even sleep due to how uncomfortable it was. Additionally, the air conditioning didn't work so the room was very hot and stuffy. Lastly, the bathroom had ants in it. The front desk denied any previous report of ants.

So disappointed. I was truly interested in booking an event using Max as the catering but I have yet to receive a call back from anyone. I had a tour which was great with the hotel manager who ensured me I would receive a call back from her with availability and no call. I have called a few more times after and spoke with the housekeeping manager who was very sweet but still no help.
