Hartford Marriott Downtown

To be fair, i chose the Marriott for its proximity to the Convention Center. And you have to expect that prices will be jacked up when there is a major event happening. We also chatted with a few business people who were in town for corporate meetings, and their companies paid for the rooms so they didn't care about the price. That being said, it was an awful lot of money for an ordinary room. Located on the 8th floor, we had a less than charming view of a side street and the backsides of your typical city buildings. The room itself held two double beds as well as the usual furnishings, nothing that justified that cost. Breakfast was not included and cost about $20 each. A small glass of juice was $5!! The desk staff at the Hartford Marriott Downtown were exceptionally helpful. I would rate the desk staff here one step above. I called ahead of time to add a friend's name to my room reservation, and they could not have been more helpful. After checking out, my friend arrived home and found that some items had been left behind. The hotel took care of everything, and were very concerned about getting the items back to my friend. ||The room was fine, although the decor needed a bit of refreshing. I had to report a crack in the bathroom sink and also the surface in the bathtub/shower was peeling off in places.||My main concern was that housekeeping did not clean the room every day (4-night stay). There was no signage up at all related to housekeeping schedules. I would have requested that the

Positive: Room was clean and good size. Negative: I booked it because it had a pool and hot tub and resturant on site. Pool and hot tub were out of service. The resturant took 1 hour to make a hamburger and bar staff never offered to sell me a drink while I waited. Parking was crazy expensive. Awful

Stayed here several times a year as our home office is located in Hartford. The property and staff were all top notch. 5/5 recommend. The staff and service really sets this property apart! I want to mention and specifically thank Tina Fleming for all of her help. She was exceptionally accommodating in getting us a corner suite and then equally responsive in taking care of an issue. Thank you! We visited in early February for work conference . Checkin was a breeze, and staff happily brought us extra towels, etc. Clean, spacious king corner room with concierge lounge access. Excellent location in close proximity to food and drink in the area. I also want to give a special thanks to the bartenders. They were kind and attentive. We will see you again!

Stayed at this Marriott a few weekends ago for one night. Check in and check out were both very easy. The front desk agents were friendly, helpful, and overall great to interact with. My biggest disappointment was that the pool was not in service. On the positive side, they gave me a nice room on the twentieth floor. The room was great and the bathroom was great as well. The gym could use some updates since it only had one mat and felt a bit dated. Parking was convenient. The garage is essentially connected and made it easy to get in and out by car. Overall it was a comfortable stay with a few things that could be improved to exceed expectations.
