Absolutely beautiful rooms. Comfy beds. Shower was a fun spa experience! Would stay again. The crystal chandeliers looks new - dust free. Clean beautiful dark wooden floors. Amazing architecture. Everyone at the front desk were professional and super friendly.

Just a pretty pedestrian experience. This is our 3rd time staying here. We visit my elderly Mom who stays in a nearby town assisted living facility. The last time we were here there was loud concert nearby and the staff said there was nothing they can do about it. Well, there is. You can let people know when they reserve their room because the hotel is responsible for the guest overall experience. At least the good hotels are. I also mentioned how awful the coffee was. So this time, it is still very loud in the room, not sure if it's nearby trains or the walls are just thin. But it wasn't very pleasant. They used to serve a small, continental breakfast but now there is nothing offered and the price is the same. So, the basement area which is very quaint isn't used for anything. And the cof

My husband wanted to stay at a hotel that was not the run of the mill so he chose this one. After walking thru the front doors, I could sense this was a very old and historic building. It was built in 1919 and has been remodeled recently. Our hotel room was charming and we have no regrets staying here. With that said, I have sensory issues/ neurodivergent and am sensitive to noises. In particular, the heating unit had a constant whistling sound. Luckily, I told the nice front desk personal of my issue and they provided me with a plug in heater that worked perfectly! They treated me with respect with my issue and not every place does! We had a drink at the bar and it was fantastic. Our only regret was we did not eat dinner here. Everything we saw looked delicious (and being veget

Older hotel with updated rooms. I love the vibes! The hotel has a lot of personality and character, which is part of the charm. We are locals but wanted a romantic evening getaway. We did not eat at the restaurant on site, which offered lunch and dinner, but the hotel was so well located, there were multiple options for breakfast. Great staff!!! Lovely little roof top area with views. Rooms and grounds were clean, and staff were extremely courteous and helpful, on every shift we interacted with, from front desk to housekeeping. Price was more than we wanted to spend, but within comparable rates of other hotels, without the same amenities and prime location! Overall, worth it and we had a great stay.

I'd give this hotel a 4.5! Really loved the Esquire! It was nice staying somewhere that didn't feel like a chain hotel... but still a great price! The room I stayed in was a bit small but that was totally fine for me as a single traveler- really loved the decor! Room was super quiet with the exception of the extremely loud heater... I ended up turning it off because I couldn't fall asleep with it on. And I loved that there was a restaurant downstairs which was pretty good! Staff was all super friendly, parking was easy albeit a little confusing upon arrival. Overall, had a great experience and would stay again- just please fix your HVAC system so it's not like a train running through the room! Seems like one of the better options in Gastonia and such a great price.
