Customer Reviews
The hosts are absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. They left me a birthday card and were very welcoming. If you like history or vintage homes this is the place for you. I adored all of the decor, it really felt like you were stepping into the early 1900s. They have done an exquisite job at maintaining the original charm of this lovely home. Will be back for another stay just to see the house again! Thanks so much for having us.
We had a wonderful stay here! The house is lovingly maintained and beautifully decorated. The beds and furniture in our suite were comfortable and the coffee/tea bar in our suite was a nice touch. We really appreciated the period furniture and decorations, too. The fridge and ice maker both were spotless and worked great. Overall, it was a very relaxing and luxurious environment. Everything was clean and the service was excellent--we cannot wait to stay here, again!
We stayed one night in Room #2, but wish we'd stayed longer. The English Merchant's Inn is as charming as it sounds. The attention to detail is top notch and the home is so cozy. Traditional English tea is provided along with other amenities to make your stay comfortable. The Owner of the home was so pleasant; we enjoyed chatting with Howard. ||Wax. is a sweet little town with several restaurants and many shops. The B&B is only 0.5 mile or a quick drive to the little town. There's even a lake nearby that would be fun if you are staying for a longer amount of time. DAL/DFW is only about 30-45 minutes drive.
Staying in a 100+ year old house was a lot of fun, especially with the period holiday decorations up. The inn was quiet and comfortable, and the coffee/tea bar in the room was very appreciated and well stocked. The fridge and the ice maker were clean and worked well. Hot water and water pressure were 10/10 — no notes. We got a little history lesson about the property when we came in, and, yeah, I can see why the lady it was built for agreed to move in. High ceilings, gorgeous floors, and even more beautiful fireplaces? Absolutely.
I stayed here exactly two years ago on a whim while passing through with my two kids. The owner booked my stay maybe an hour prior to showing up. Treated me like family and greeted me at my truck. Talked history with my 8 year old son and gave us breakfast vouchers to his restaurant down the street. That place became a core memory for my kids for sure. I’m writing this review later because I stumbled across a video my little boy took of the place “reviewing” it lol. So hopefully you guys will enjoy that video as well lol.
