The Chestnut House

I don't know what to say! Put it this way, I don't want anyone else to know about this place so it will always be available when we want it! This is my favorite place to stay on the island. Rooms are huge! We where in room 1 first floor road side. Does get some traffic noise in the AM. Rooms were exceptionally large for Nantucket. Had a full seperate living room area, bedroom and nice private bath. So nice to have that separate sitting area to relax. Great relaxing areas upstairs in the inn and outside. Middle of town and close to everything downtown. Bonus Cisco brewery shuttle is on the same street! The minimal interaction we had with the inn keepers was pleasant and felt like family. Stayed here many times. The innkeepers are very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and clean. Do miss coffee in the morning, but just a step away because it’s centrally located. Definitely recommend .

Great Location- needs update|My friend and I booked a two night stay based on location . The Chestnut House is not a hotel but a Victorian house filled with antiques. We stayed in Room 4 . It is a two room suite air conditioned;( only the bedroom)a tiny bathroom,fridge and room to spread out. However, the mattresses in the bedroom should have been thrown out years ago and are not fit to sleep on.|There is no food available ( although the previous reviews said there were vouchers for coffee available - which we never saw). It is not a place for anyone with mobility issues as the rooms are up a very steep staircase. We also did not get very helpful suggestions when we inquired about food, sightseeing etc..,|The only thing the Chestnut House had goingfor it is location and value for accomada

You could not ask for a more central location in the Historic District, yet just enough off the main streets to be quiet at night. The staff were VERY responsive to every need. They have beach blankets, umbrellas, and chairs available for guests. The suites are very clean and nicely quaint. Some additional sitting areas and an additional bathroom in the hall. We were delighted with our experience.

This is the most beautiful house I've ever stayed in. The atmosphere, the location I mean everything about it was PERFECT. I'm sad I can't live here!! Highly recommend. Please treat this place with respect!
