If you want to be transported back to a time and place filled with old-world charm, far from the madding crowd, book a stay at the Seven Sea Street Inn over Thanksgiving. The room was cozy, the bed was comfy, and the shower was strong and hot. Our innkeeper, Matt, and his manager, Charles, were often on-site making sure we were comfortable and helping us navigate restaurants and activities. Everything in downtown Nantucket, including the ferry, was within walking distance from the hotel, so there was no need for a car. We enjoyed delicious meals and drinks: Brotherhood of Thieves, Queequegs, and Sister Ship (booked in advance for Thanksgiving Day). Our last night, after the Tree Lighting, we picked up sandwiches and chocolate malts at the pharmacy in town and hunkered down back at the Inn.

My daughter and I have just returned recently from a stay at the Seven Sea Street Inn. The Inn is a charming 9 room Inn. Each room has its own bathroom. The rooms are very spacious with full amenities, robes, and a flat screen TV. The beds were extremely comfortable with luxury sheets. There is a beautiful garden out back that has plenty of furniture, a fire pit and soft lighting at night, Perfectly located downtown and a 5 minute walk from the Ferry. The Inn keeper Matt is very friendly, attentive and made us feel right at home. This Inn does not disappoint. Looking forward to our next stay.

Charming and cozy, this little inn was full of Old World allure and delightful surprises. A friend and I had the pleasure of spending four nights at The Seven Sea Street Inn during Thanksgiving and couldn’t have imagined a better experience. We shared adjoining rooms, both of which were comfortable and inviting (have never slept better). The shower experience was in a category all its own, setting a new standard I’m afraid I’ll never encounter again. It was definitely difficult not to linger. In addition to our rooms, we also enjoyed lounging in the library by the fire, reading from the inn’s collection of books. The owner/manager and staff were all very friendly and attentive to our needs, going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. And last, but most definitely not least, the brea

Not worth it. This place has beautiful old wide plank floors and beautiful wooden walls and beams, kind of updated small bathrooms (at least ours was small, but the shower pressure was excellent, as one review pointed out). But the breakfast, while fine, was certainly not deserving of the ridiculously elegiac praise from another “reviewer” (it does make one wonder….), Nor was the hospitality of the proprietor(s). I can’t say Matt was unfriendly, but neither can I say he exuded the kind of welcoming attitude you might expect to find in a place this size. When you come downstairs to the main room/kitchen, even if he’s sitting at the desk, 5 feet away, you get no acknowledgment. He says he’s been doing this since 1986; perhaps he’s a bit jaded, or maybe something was going on the days we

Excellent location. Very close to ferry and downtown. Car/ bike rental less than a block away. The inn is located on a quiet street. ||Rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed. Shower water pressure was amazing. Bed was comfortable. ||Breakfast provided by Charles was delicious. Fresh fruit, freshly made quiche, brioche, frittata. Coffee/tea bar available all day and cozy fire in the dining room.
