The Appalachian at Mountain Creek

This hotel is in a very nice location—just steps from the slopes—which makes it incredibly convenient. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. One thing to note is that there is not 24-hour assistance, so it’s best to take care of any needs before 10–11 pm. The room was mostly clean. There were a few minor issues, but nothing egregious or that significantly affected our stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the location and convenience alone, and it was a pleasant place to stay as well.

Stayed here last weekend for a wedding at the resort. Our room was in mid-renovation condition, spackle patches throughout, filthy carpet, tired furniture… the kind of place you don’t take your shoes off in. 🤢 I saw some of the other rooms and they seemed recently renovated and nicer. But they should not be putting people in the pre-updated rooms. They’re terrible. Check in, as others have noted here, was a disaster. Random dude in the snack shop who told me he only had one reservation under my last name and that had been checked into. Long story short he’d let my mother check in to our room so I needed to have her forward me the text with our door code (hers was under my sister’s name). He never asked for an ID, first name or reservation code to check into the room. Anyone could have che

The bartender Albert was most accommodating. He made our trip very enjoyable. Thank you Albert! He provided delicious drinks and games for the children.

The hotel itself is not bad.. the location is prime if your skiing has a good amount of entertainment for children.. However for it being a Hotel with 50+ rooms IT DOESNT HAVE A RECEPTION LOBBY… like what and you get lost trying to find it.. then you by chance go to ASK in a little shop where is the lobby and is 1 guy on a laptop.. like what year are we on.. Then when I didn’t get the text they send out. I come back to a “LOBBY” that is closed. What a joke.. if they fix that or put some better signaling for guidance when you get there it would be an awesome experience.

Loved staying at the Appalachian. If you’re looking to get away from the city, this is definitely the place to start. In the woods but with great amenities. On our last night at the hotel, we stopped by Jack & Otto’s Bar in the lobby and met Al the bartender. Who made the night well worth it for my boyfriend and I. So friendly, relatable and pleasant. He’s amazing!! The whole trip itself was awesome. We would come back again whether on a couple’s getaway or a family trip!
