Quality Inn near Mountain Creek

My husband skeeves small hotels but “clerk” undersold it. Rooms were clean (except for black light spot on chair we covered with a towel). Could patch up a few cosmetic things, but sheets, air were all clean & inviting. Room had Everything we needed & sign said we could ask at desk.. Workout room was small but enjoyed the workout after being stuffed in a car! - lol. Location was close enough to our destinations in town. Cute diner next door (if you dont like their continental + breakfast) & Best Pizza in at least 2 states (probably 49-excepting Connecticut- haha) across the street at Goodfellas. It’s worth a stay - I think they’ll try to satisfy. But it IS clean Oh! Wood floors! A definite plus on our book. Enjoy the town.

There were specific items to note: It would be great to have automatic sliding doors for when you are carrying a lot of luggage. Having to put it all down to open the door, then find a way to pick it up and hold the door open, and navigate all of that, considering the fact that this is a hotel and guests are carrying in luggage and bags. The room 118 door has water damage or some kind of significant damage. The room had a really odd smell. The thermostat battery was almost dead. It would not function correctly and trying to get it to set at a temp while on AC was not easy, when I turned it up because it got way to cold it automatically turned on the heat and I could not get it back to AC so I had to turn the system off. My husband, small dog and I stayed here this past weekend. We booked it in August online and immediately called to say we had a dog to make sure we would have a pet friendly room and no issues. The girl on the phone said we were al set and it would be a $20/night pet fee which was fine with us. We called again once more in September (because I worry and like to make sure all will go smoothly) and again confirmed the dog. During the 6 hour drive we called to double check what time we could check in. I AGAIN made sure they knew the dog was coming and we were halfway there. The room is pretty outdated. There is a couple of water stains on the ceilings. The room also has a weird smell during our stay. The breakfast doesn't have much variety compare to other places I had been too. Overall I am not too impressed with my stay . I picked here became it was near mountain Creek.
