Customer Reviews
I have stayed at the Alexandrian twice now, and each time I was so impressed. The Alexandrian is in a perfect location for exploring Old Town Alexandria and has convenient on-site parking available. The restaurant is excellent, especially for breakfast. During my stay, I was greeted by the very friendly and helpful Corrina and, later, Mashira. They both made me feel like a valuable guest. Chris was another big standout. Everyone made me feel valued and welcome. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. You will enjoy your stay here!
If you book this hotel use a parking app and save money. We were able to park in the hotel garage underneath the property. It was nice to be greeted with a welcome bag that included two bottles of water and chocolates. The elevators were small and closed very quickly. We had to rush to the doors or they would close before we got on. Hopefully the timing can be adjusted for anyone who is not standing next to the door that opens first. The room was one of the largest I’ve seen in a historic area and we appreciated the space. For the price it was not as luxurious as one might expect. They seem to be working on some maintenance needs in the lobby and one of our curtains was missing a gold button. Small details, but they add up. It was centrally located for exploring Alexandria.
I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly. The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am! The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what? The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member. There was less th
The one star is for the "Destination Fee" (previously known as a Resort Fee)... You're welcomed with a cynical hidden greed charge of $75 for things you don't want -- such as $15 vouchers per day for the mediocre restaurant. PRO TIP: refuse to pay it. The poor staff at reception know it's a scam. And let it go. The rooms aren't tired. They're exhausted. Chipped, scratched, dirty. I dread to think what filth a UV lamp would reveal. The whole place has been neglected for too long and it's sad to see. The nice staff seem a bit deflated by it all. The location is great, but I wouldn't return here -- as it's appallingly managed, and surprise charges disgust me.
I took my wife here the day after Christmas for two special days, got a Jacuzzi room. The Jacuzzi was amazing. I loved everything about the room; we even had robes. My wife loved them. We had a balcony overlooking the center of the place, which was really neat. The Hotel had a nice restaurant and cool-looking art. The staff was very friendly, which made us feel welcomed and appreciated, and King St. was a nice place to find anything, making it easy to enjoy our stay. I look forward to another visit. It was very costly but worth every penny, which makes me confident it's a good investment for a memorable stay.
