Texan Motel

Well before I came to Texan/Mehls motel. Both hotels are run by the same manager. Okay before I came to the Texan I heard horror stories about how old it is and the giant bugs and roaches. Well they were just horror stories. We have been here 2 weeks now and haven't seen one bug or roach 🪳. Yes it's an old establishment but everything gets better with age. Everything is in working order and there is more then one laundry site in each of the two hotels. It is the lowest price for a weekly rate that we found. At 270 a week you can't go wrong. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the residents are like one big family. We are paying for a month on the 27th. The Texan/Mehls Motel, Austin's little gem on Lemar Blvd

This establishment is owned by the same people that own Mehl's......it has the same problems as Mehl's....bedbug infestation......black mold issue and poor management. There again CASH ONLY PAYMENTS. They both are not up to liveable conditions. They should be shut down and demolished!!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!!

Ok, it's pretty cheap but shabby. A lot of variation in room size. Some staff much more helpful than others. Some rooms minus microwave and/or fridge. Lots of shady people on and near premises. It is close to some pretty decent Asian shops and the rail station.

We had the family get together here for my father’s 80th birthday and had an amazing time. It was a great location for the event. Loved the historical accents the hotel had while providing modern comforts. The mattress was very nice and shower had great pressure. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone.

I know some people that regularly go here.
