TA Campground At Lee Hi Travel Plaza

I stumbled upon this location when looking for an overnight spot on the way to NC. Go to the fuel desk and ask for what's available. a few minutes later and I was parked in a full service spot, 50amp service with water and septic. Very scenic location, peaceful and quiet. For $37 for the night I thinks it's an absolute bargain.

Honestly... I could have given 2 or 3 stars. The place is quite even with the trucks. We didn't hear any trucks at all. Bit the bathrooms are outdated and very dirty. It doesn't look like they had been restocked or cleaned in months. The entrance to the men's room was lit but the ladies room was not. The only saving grace would be how friendly the staff was. Every employee seemed happy and friendly. Its just a shame that the place isn't kept clean.

We found this place when we were heading from West 64 towards Virginia Beach and we had pulled off onto a roadside rest to get some a few hours of sleep because we were pulling our camper. We were gonna stay in the camper at the roadside rest, but you know they do not have Electric hook up so while we were at the roadside rest, I googled campground and we found this place. Long story short we headed here. We arrived a few minutes before midnight and was quickly got a campground spot. It was 37.50 for one night. The campground is on top of the hill behind the truckstop so it is separated from the trucks and we really couldn’t hear any noise. We stayed the night and got up the next morning and left. But it was safe and it had a hook up electric and sewer. For 3750 a night we will make this

We needed a safe place to park and stay overnight with our travel trailer. Found this place, took a chance since some of the reviews weren't great. I'm so glad we took the chance. Easy to reserve (call Fuel Desk). The price was 40ish dollars a night. I assumed we would have electric and water (I forgot to ask) but we pulled into our 100 foot pull through site and it was FULL HOOK UP! Whhhhaaaat?! Score!! When you pull in, go around back and come in the door by the gas pumps (Fuel Desk door). They have a gas station on site, IHOP and a convenience store. I'm sooo glad we were able to stop here on our trip. We leave in the morning, but on our way back through, we will be stopping here again. Yes, there are trucks stopped in the parking lot below. Not great. Bathhouse, at least men’s side, gross. I would not even use any of the three toilets, won’t provide any more details than that! But based on cleanliness of toilets, I won’t be using the showers either. Sites ok but upkeep appears lacking. They are fairly level tho, and covered with crush rock. About half of campground is full timers which is fine, been there, done that myself. But some standards need to be set for site maintenance. Dump station not level , badly eroded with ruts, and area around connection flooded. Located on terraced hill behind HUGE TruckStops America where you must first pay at the fuel desk. Aside from truck and interstate noise, which doesn’t really bother me, not sure it’s worth $37.50+tax(sewer and electric only, full H/U available for more), all thing
