We stopped randomly on a long drive home. We had no idea it was a colonial mansion or in a quaint college town. We stayed in the Manor House, room 7, and absolutely loved everything about it. Beautiful room with a comfortable sleigh bed and fireplace. The young lady at the front desk was so kind and personable. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the mansion and patiently answered all of our questions about it. She also recommended several local restaurants for dinner, which we very much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again!

OMG what a GREAT Surprise this was. If you're into antiquing and things like that. This hotel and its location is definitely for you. It has that classic appeal and it was previously owned by a center or it was a governor's mansion or something like that. But it's absolutely beautiful on the inside. If you get the chance to book a room there do so it's beautiful.

We were traveling across Virginia and stopped for the night with no prior reservation. The city of Lexington itself is a must-see for history buffs, and this hotel fits right in. The grounds are beautiful, with the hotel sitting back from the road in a quiet estate setting. The registration building is an estate manion from the 1700s - beautiful! In this building you'll find registration, public areas such as a business area, breakfast (typical Hampton fare), and some hotel rooms upstairs. (We didn't see these, but from other travelers' pics here, they're beautiful!) This building has been kept in its 18th-century decor and charm. We stayed here for one night, arrived after 7pm and left after a quick breakfast. The building with the front desk was unexpected. Of there wasn't a sign I'd have not known it was the hotel. Nice look. The rooms were fine and clean. The only problem was we were given a room and when we got there and entered it was obviously already occupied! Had to walk back to the front desk and tell them. Seems they should already know that.
