SureStay Plus by Best Western Brandywine Valley

I stayed for two days , had to get a room change because the first one they had me in , the ceiling started leaking. The covers are stained which makes them look dirty. The tubs were dirty with hair & all types of nasty looking stains. I saw a small roach which means they probably have some type of infestation. It's pretty quiet , didn't really have any trouble with anything else.

Rating on a scale of 1-10. Ten being the highest - this would be a 2. And I've stayed at a LOT of hotels across the US and around the world. Unfortunately, this was the only place that "looked" decent and had an ok review. Makes me wonder who rated this a 6.0 on Hotels.com.||Let's see....to start the front desk staff seemed ambivalent to customers. She saw me standing there waiting to check in....ignored me and kept carrying on her conversation with someone unseen for several minutes. And zero cordiality when she did approach. But she was adamant about not parking along the fence line... across from the front desk because I might get towed. Ok fine. Odd, but thanks for the warning I guess. ||Overall grounds needs a good week-long cleaning. They don't even bother with the basics like sweepi

This was by far the dirtiest property I have stayed at in the USA. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and bugs in the bed and linens. It was extremely unhygienic and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the receptionist was indifferent and careless. When she quoted $110 + tax for a double room, I mentioned that the online rate was $62 + tax. Instead of checking or offering a solution, she bluntly told us to book online if we wanted a better rate. This was shocking, as most places are willing to match or beat online prices. Overall, I strongly advise staying away from this property. It was a disappointing and unpleasant experience.

Requested a first floor room and was told none were available. Asked if we could get assistance with luggage and was told no one was available to assist while 3 young men stood behind the counter looking at me. Arrived at the room and found a sparsly furnished room with one bed. I had asked for 2 beds and was told there were none available. I then told them we would be leaving and requested a refund. I was told they never charged my card and now on my credit card seeing they charged my card for 265.00. Never ever stay there. Sleep in your car, im sure it's much cleaner.

Positive: The staff were great- I had to book a last minute hotel and they were able to accommodate a late night check-in. I also requested an additional check out time which they were able to grant. Negative: * my room had a cockroach * The room keys were suddenly deactivated and I couldn't get on my room. I had new keys provisioned. Turns out the keys aren't supposed to touch phones or credit cards because they deactivate key cards.* Lobby door gets stuck
