Super 8 by Wyndham Valparaiso

This is overall a very nice hotel for the price. It was clean and felt safe. Checking in closer to 11pm was no issue and the bed was decently comfortable. Pool was closed but that was fine for me. It’s pretty bare-bones but you get what you pay for. My only complaint is that the juice machine was non-functional for breakfast, so I wasn’t able to have any breakfast. Not a giant deal but I was excited for apple juice.

Super helpful when I was homeless. I literally had nowhere to go. They allowed me to check in at 12 am. It didnt bother me that I needed to check out at 11am. They helped me when another hotel reservation fell apart on me that night. The staff were incredible. They gave me a king size suite super clean room and very comfortable bed. I was able to relax comfortably at their establishment. They have been so helpful in a pivotal moment.

Positive: Close to where I needed it to be Negative: There was a small stuck on crunchie on the blanket I noticed at the end of my stay. It was not from me and was grossed out making me wonder if they wash any of the blankets after every guest has a stay.

As soon as we checked in and went to our room, we immediately went back and checked out. There were roaches in the room. I am pretty sure they rent these rooms by the month because the room at the end of the hall on second floor had their door open and you could see all the trash and food piled up. I would NEVER stay there again! I also contacted the board of health.

Great spot to sleep! We adventure all over the country and if you’re just looking for a clean enough place to rest your head and wash up in between it’s a solid stop for the price. We stayed here 2 nights Labor Day weekend for $200 booked through Vio because it gave the best rates. Close enough to the National park but far enough away for better rates. Didn’t see any type of bugs or mold. Smelled a little musky but not enough to ruin my stay. Shower heads are super outdated but enough pressure to get you clean. Breakfast wasn’t hot but coffee was good enough. If your planning to spend a ton of time in a hotel to swim and be pampered not the place for you. If you need a convenient affordable spot it’s perfect.
