Hampton Inn & Suites Valparaiso

The rooms were clean, the water pressure in the shower was great, the pool was super clean. The elevator was slow and the breakfast was hotel decent. The young girls at the front desk were super nice and helpful. Overall great stay!

Overall not a bad weekend. Just a couple of issues. The elevator is ancient and needs to be updated. The doors banged open as if the elevator would break down any moment. Also, the fridge in the room was entirely too cold and froze our food and drinks

They have a 48 hour cancelation policy. Home was getting an expected 6-8 inches of snow. They would not allow us to cancel the morning of our reservation. Their solution was for us to leave and they would give us a room early. We did that, but now we are faced with digging out to even get into our driveway. I know it was our choice to walk away from the room, and suck up the fees, but that didn't sit well with us. A 2 hour drive took us 3 due to the road conditions. I would have expected more consideration from Hilton, especially given the weather and our diamond status.

This is one of the worst hotels in the Valparaiso area that we have ever stayed at. The place is on the newer side. The rooms are clean. However, front desk staff are questionable. We stayed long term. Big mistake! I didn't realize that they disliked having long term guests. To sum it up, the general manager, Kat Larson, took an instant dislike to us. It seems that being from the West Coast upset her. She went out of her way to make our stay as unpleasant as possible by making up false stories about us. Some of the staff members would tell us about what she was saying about us and felt bad for us. Others just listened to her vicious rumors and were very unpleasant. It's really upsetting that we spent a lot of money at a place where we were not welcomed. This has really left a bad impressio
