Super 8 by Wyndham South Padre Island

It's a super 8. The wifi is spotty. It's cheap in the off season. The free breakfast is just waffles you make. Oatmeal. And cereal. The pool was closed *indefinitely* The room was clean. But older and faded. The beds matress was stiff and like a hard rock. The blanket was extremely thin as well and barely able to be called a blanket. It is a cheap place to stay for a night. Loved the location on the bay side, it was a great get away. The cable could be improved especial for nighttime News otherwise that help was easy to talk to for your room needs.

The blankets are paper thin other than that it's a nice place to stay. It's in the middle of all the scenery. Thumbs up to that... You can walk to the end of the drive way and see everything. They don't have elevators it's a first and second floor with stairs only for the second floor. So anyone requiring an elevator for health reasons and can't do stairs please ask them for a room on the first floor only. They will help you carry your things upstairs if you ask. Other than that it's a nice place to stay.

I booked a room at super 8 in south Padre Island,  Texas on 10.5.2025 DO NOT HERE, VERY RUDE PEOPLE WORK HERE. THE OWNER DOESN'T CARE. THIS PLACE IS A RED FLAG TO ANYONE TRAVEL ING TO SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS This woman Nickic at the front desk of super 8 is one of the rudest female of have encountered in my life. She threatened to not book me in. I believe she is racist to white people , she did not smile or friendly to me at all. Was very demanding. When other people came of to the front desk she was friendly to them. So that why I am saying that. I have stayed at other super 8 hotels in Dallas and Houston. They were fantastic to deal with. No issues. Because I questioned her about the $100 deposit that was never disclosed. I think I am entitled to a full refund or credit for ano

At check in I asked for ground floor cause I have a walker . Front said no rooms available . I found out from other guests pool is closed I get it winter . Front desk said I should have booked handicapped room I said I just booked it this morning . She just said a tip book handicap next time. Didn’t tell me about restaurant hot tub or really anything , phon not working . I recommend staying elsewhere. Room was nice. Early check in was 10 dollars an hour ugh I am 77 years old and no drama needed .
