Super 8 by Wyndham South Boston VA

I treat the reviews and my stay was better than expected. No complaints considering the price point. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Heater was not work in original room and was immediately given another room. Don't expect the Ritz at this value price.

Bed bugs and roaches; door lock/card reader screws were loose on the door. Used fingernail filer to tighten them. Dark smudges on bathroom wall that I was able to easily clean off with a wet hand towel; plank of flooring sticking up; bathroom outlet didn’t work; light switch at door didn’t work; duct work under beds made noise with every movement; used paint to cover up bad spots on the tub; tub drain corroded. On a positive note, the tv worked good! By far the dirtiest hotel we’ve been to on our two week road trip.

Positive: "" Negative: refrigerator had bugs in it, ants coming through the tub walls, no closet to hang clothes and the smell of drugs being used in the halls, smoke detector was missing from the room and was still charged for early checkout.

Staff is awesome and room is very clean. We are visiting for our sons surgery . We will always stay here!! They were able to upgrade our room and they were super helpful!! Thanks for making this a great trip to South Boston VA !!

I have stayed (and reviewed) this hotel before - but on returning to south Boston for a work trip this was my GO TO place to stay again - and it did not disappoint!!!! Staff is wonderful and friendly and GUESS WHAT.... in these days where hotels don't want to offer ANY housekeeping services - they have Housekeeping Services EVERY DAY here!! Clean and comfortable. Felt safe and secure. Parking lots very well lit.
