Super 8 by Wyndham Santa Clara

I arrived 30 minutes after the check in time and was notified by the front desk that my room is still not ready and will be about 5 minutes. I didn’t mind waiting 5 more minutes for my room but after 5 minutes, a staff member from the front desk informed me that my room is still not ready and will be about 40 more minutes. I have made dinner reservations with my wife and we would have been late if we decided to wait longer. Not only was my room not ready, the atmosphere of the hotel was not very clean and it felt very sketchy. One good thing I will say is that the front desk staff made cancelling my booking easy and hassle free. I recommend saving yourself the trouble and spend a few dollars more on a different hotel nearby.

Positive: Room size for 2 queen beds and location. Negative: Bathroom wasn't clean. Shower water pressure was really bad. Mold in the bathroom. No lock on bathroom door. Room AC was really bad. I kept 64°F whole night but still it felt like 80°F inside room. No breakfast.

I'm a Platinum Wyndham Rewards Member who has stayed at this hotel 10+ nights in the past 3 months, and each time I've stayed, I've been treated extremely badly, especially by the women at the front desk. One of the women is Vicky, orange/red-headed, and the other woman is a tall, light-skinned, black-long-haired, speaks English and Spanish, and is probably in her 40's. I don't recall her name, but she usually works mornings/afternoons, as well as Vicky. There's also a young Black man who works mornings, always dresses very nicely, in a suit or a nice man's blazer with a hat. Probably in his 20's or 30's. I really wanted to like him, but he usually gives me a terrible attitude when speaking to me. Not once have I done or said anything rude or disrespected them in any way, shape, or form.

I would actually like to give zero stars, but since that's impossible, I'm giving one star. The hotel is very low quality, and the reception staff are numerous and irresponsible. When I went to the reception for check-in, there was no one there, but I could hear voices coming from the room inside. Even though I called out several times, no one paid attention. After about 7 minutes, a reception employee came and processed the check-in very slowly. He was chatting with another customer standing behind me, but he didn't pay attention to me even though I was next in line. When he finally gave me my key card, I went to the room, but the card didn't open the door. I had to go back to the reception. They handle things very unprofessionally. Also, I had booked a room with breakfast included, but

Positive: Decently quiet in the room. Sheets/blankets were clean. Negative: Room key card stopped working every time I tried to re-enter room, would have to walk to office each time to have them set up key card again. Toilet did not flush cuz of stuck pump and fixed it myself. Found long black hairs on washcloth.
