Super 8 by Wyndham Lexington VA

As soon as we walked through the door to the 3rd floor, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. As we went in the room, it smelled pretty strongly of pickles (vinegar). I don't know if they use some kind of vinegar for cleaning or not, but maybe some room deoderizer after cleaning is needed if they do. The light by the bed didn't work and something was wrong with the drain in the tub (noticed the next morning). It wouldn't stay up to drain and when you were able to wedge it up, it drained very slowly so that you were standing in a quarter inch or more of water when showering. It was just a quick overnight stay for a fishing trip nearby, so we just dealt with it.

Drive past…. Property smells from the lobby and only gets worse by the time you open the room door. No, it actually smells worse when you turn on the room HVAC wall unit. The dirty room carpet has pieces cut out (past DNA evidence sample?)… it was like a motel movie set of Joy Ride! Drive past or sleep in your car!

We stopped here for the night on our way home to Southern West Virginia. The front desk man could not speak English at all. We asked him for a smoking room and he said they were on the third floor with all stairs and no elevators. I'm disabled, so that was out. Then my husband asked if the first floor rooms had outside doors to them so we could smoke and he said yes. I don't know if he intentionally lied or if he didn't understand the question. Anyway, we didn't smoke at all. The beds were hard as a brick and everything was quite antiquated. I only used the sheet because the covers on top looked filthy. The TV is in analog mode and the picture was so terrible we went to sleep, got up and left. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The microwave smelled like smoke when my husband tried

As a nurse working night shift the staff was respectful of that, I was not woke up at the wrong time. When I needed supplies I was able to get them. I stayed in two different rooms both refrigerators had something wrong with them but it was manageable. All staff was friendly.
