Super 8 by Wyndham Houghton

Super 8 is down the hill and invisible from the street, so pay attention for the sign. Clean property that appears well-maintained in public areas. Room was fine, beds were good but the pillows were small squares. Good staff. WiFi was very hit/miss, often not even dial-up speed. Lots of parking.

Absolutely beautiful location. Super friendly staff!!! Continental breakfast had a wide selection including a waffle making station. Went for my step son’s college graduation. We were within 5-6 minutes of everything. Coffee shop was right up the street, and all the restaurants were great! I cannot speak highly enough of the staff especially. They were the best! If you can, make sure you get a room with a view of the mountain. It’s definitely worth it!

Positive: The location on the canal was ideal. Staff were very helpful also. Negative: No comfy place to sit and stare out the window at the beautiful scenery--bed too high, chair too low. Window screen damaged enough to let in mosquitoes. Could also use an ATM in the lobby.

Their breakfast is much better than most hotels offer these days. Don't get me wrong it's not a breakfast you write home about, but compared to what other hotels in the area offer this isn't too bad. The offer bottled orange and apple juice and Jimmy Dean prepackaged sausage egg and cheese croissants or biscuits and the fruit is fresh. If you can get it for a good price this is a decent place to stay. It's not so much that they are amazing is that the other options in this area are just so far when it comes to breakfast period as far as the hotel is just a normal Hotel. They seem to cater to snowmobilers band people on vacation looking for a good deal on a place to stay. My hotel room all in was $160 which is really expensive, but the alternatives in the area are 200 plus dollars a night,

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this Super 8. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service from all the staff was amazing especially from Calah. Our rental car was unsafe to drive and she was a great help to my family and I, she researched transportation services and gave recommendations. She really went above and beyond to help us and we are really grateful. The breakfast was also really great and my family and I enjoyed hot chocolate in the afternoon after a cold day outdoors. We stayed during Christmas time and the decorations around the hotel were lovely and even in the winter the view was picturesque. My sister and I enjoyed watching people ski from the window. Staying in the Super 8 was the best decision for our hotel and if I ever come back to Houghton it will be my 1st choi
