Holiday Inn Express Houghton-Keweenaw by IHG

We enjoyed our stay while visiting Michigan Tech nearby with our teenager. The hotel is clean and very comfortable. Parking is a little challenging, especially in the winter. We were in room 302, and our TV did not work. Price was reasonable, staff was friendly, decent breakfast, hot shower. Would stay again.

This event happened back in late December 2025 and they still have not reached out to me. STAY AWAY from here if you don’t want to get gas lighted by a front desk associate named Randy. I reserved a room approximately one month in advance and have my emails for proof that was advertised as being about 600 square feet and included a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and two queen beds. I have email confirmations showing that this is the room I booked and paid for. After driving from Minnesota to Michigan, I checked into the hotel and was assigned a room that was clearly not what I had reserved. The room was roughly 300 square feet, had only one bathroom, and did not include a kitchen. Got booked in by a friendly person at the front desk without any hesitations or problems. My room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. Linens were very clean also and the beds are fantastic! Breakfast in the morning was prepared on time and fresh each morning during my stay. The new fresh ground coffee is amazing! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!!

Positive: "" Negative: The bathroom needed serious cleaning. There was hair on the floor and red and brown stains at the base of the shower wall, which wiped off with a wash cloth. Very disappointed 😔.

The room was very clean. The beds were amazing. Clean fresh linens. You got everything you were looking for in a chain hotel. the lobby area is very comfy. Pool and hot tub. It accepted my dog which made me very happy. Most of all the staff was super friendly and helpful. They are working really hard provide a clean hotel.
