Super 8 by Wyndham Brookings

Located right off the exit and close to food. 10 min from SDSU. Clean hotel and room. Comfy beds. Yummy hot breakfast in the morning. Just outdated looking but smelt clean too which was nice. Didn't use the pool or hot tub so can’t review that but seemed to be working. Only issue was our door had a broken lock for at night and the staff seemed pretty much non existent for checking in and any breakfast help. Would stay here again though.

Overall, we were happy with our stay here. As with many other reviewers, the breakfast was the biggest disappointment. We arrived at 9:00 to find the supply of bread, omelettes and sausages almost completely finished, and it was not restocked again after that. With a room full of people still eating, there was not enough left to go around. After talking to the woman at the front desk, I discovered that in an effort to reduce waste they are only preparing a certain amount in the early mornings, and that it was already finished. Conservation is genuinely a worthy goal, but not to the degree that the hotel is failing to provide the breakfast that they promised to all of their customers. Positive: Cleanliness of the whole facility! Nothing was out of place, it was updated with decor and beautifully done. Cozy and inviting as soon as you walked in the door! The breakfast room for the complimentary breakfast was kept clean with kept wiped off) Negative: Our tv kept pixelating, which was annoying, but we weren’t there to watch tv.

Staff was unfriendly (except for the housekeeper). Our room was rundown and there was mold in our shower. The pool and hot tub were ancient. They had many patched areas and lots of debris on the bottoms. I couldn't use the hot tub due to the dismal look of it. We had a suite which was the size of any normal hotel room. The most disappointing part was the breakfast buffet. We purposely stay at hotels that offer breakfast as an easy way to feed our kids without the hassle of going out to eat in the morning. The buffet was fro. 6:30 to 9am. By 8am, there were not any hot items left- only toast and cereal. The staff said when it's gone, it's gone.

There were holes in the sheets and stains and hair on the blankets. The lights were not all working. when we walked into our room it didn't smell very good. The staff was amazing though and very helpful. We will stay again if we need to. Just could use a good deep cleaning.
