Quality Inn Brookings-University

Nice sized clean room. Nice owner. But in the middle of the night, a hidden light came on suddenly, near the base of the bed. It turned off, but then, also in the middle of the night, our bedside stand did the same thing 2 times! A family member in a different room had the same thing occur. What the heck?!? We've never had anything like this happen in a hotel room before. I informed the owner, did not get an explanation, but just" I'll fix it". Who has lights that go on and off at will, that are hidden near the base of furniture? And the morning coffee was luke warm, uggh!

The hotel is clean, quiet, the room was spacious and well kept. Great location for us coming through town. Staff was helpful and breakfast was pretty good! We would stay there again!

Positive: The staff was very friendly. Very informative upon check-in and anytime I was out and about, they would ask if I needed anything and told me where things were located. Negative: There was a "deep fryer oil" type scent in the downstairs hallway. However, my room was just fine. I would stay here again.

The staff were so friendly and nice! The lady that checked us in and the gentleman working that night were so helpful! The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The outside and check in area had me a little worried but the place exceeded my expectations.

We have stayed at this Motel a number of times when we were in Brookings. The only problem was we could not get any of the Sioux Falls Channels on the T.V. The breakfast food was good and plentiful.
