Sunset Inn & Suites - Lincoln Airport

Positive: "" Negative: Ffirst walked into the lobby, smelled of smoke and nobody at the check in. called the number provided and they came down right away. Walked into our room &noticed smoke odor. Looked at bed, cigarette burns in the top blanket. Left immediately

The place is very out dated. Ceilings are falling apart and carpets torn up. Our microwave didn't work, told the front desk, said someone would come look at it. They never showed up. There was old food under the beds, cob webs and ants all over. Later that night found roaches. They agreed to switch rooms since we couldn't get our money back. We checked everything before we unpacked again. Went to lunch, came back and found 3 more roaches on the door. Smells terrible.

On the positive side, Sunset Inn has an eclectic and delightful staff, happy to assist needs as they come up and knowledgeable about nearby attractions. The location is fantastic, right off the interstate and next to the airport. When booked online, the price charged is reduced significantly and all these things help make the experience ideal for a wayward traveler. Unfortunately, there are some obvious opportunities which might slightly tarnish the silver for those with children or loved ones along for the ride - the property has signs posted which state the outside doors are locked 24 hrs a day and only accessible by a room key. However, those locks don't work and any of the doors are accessible at any time, for anyone. My room had an odor which was immediately noticeable upon entering

Our first room (106) was disgusting had dirt and food crumbs all over the floor, half of the lights didn't even work beds were extremely worn out mattresses were sunken in, there was cockroaches everywhere and the door to the room wasn't closing all the way it wouldn't latch even slamming it and pulling it shut firmly it still didn't latch. Talked to the front desk had explained the situation and had addressed the issues, he was super chill about it. Immediately gave us a new room (204) which was somewhat cleaner yes. Door actually worked lights some what worked. Sat on the bed immediately felt like i was getting eaten up just felt itchy everywhere although i didnt see any signs of bed bugs but im definitely doing a hot cleanse when i get home. There were almost no lights on outside so we at first drove past the place. When we got there, it took a long time for the clerk to check us in. The walls in the room, which we had booked in advance on a nonrefundable basis, were stained and some of the edging on the floor had been peeled off. Only one of the two beds had a bedspread. The bathroom was dirty. We took one look and walked out and found a room at the nearby Comfort Inn. Never again.
