Staybridge Suites Peoria-Downtown by IHG

This is a very clean place to stay, was impressed that our room had a mini kitchen which included two burners, dishwasher, full size fridge. Staff was very kind and when our room wasn’t ready at check in they apologized multiple times and did again when we checked out. Felt safe and they served breakfast which was good! If you are going to an event at the Peoria Civic Center I highly recommend, a quick 5 minute walk and parking is included with your stay! Would stay here again!

To start, IHG still does not offer mobile check-in, so you have to wait for the front desk staff to check you in - strike one. Two, it was very apparent that homeless people were using the hotel services, and this made me feel extremely uncomfortable with my two teenage daughters that were with me.I'm not sure how in the world IHG can allow this to happen. I'm not against helping others but my family's safety and security comes first and that definitely was not the case at this property - strike two and three when you pay $225 a night for a room you should have a decent breakfast which was not the case - the juice machine was out of service and they offered zero bottled juices to supplement the juice machine being out of service and cleanleness was suplbpar to say the least. Positive: The location was great for moving my daughter into her apartment. Negative: The hotel advertised amenities that were not present . Counter attendants provided inaccurate information at check in. Pool was closed upon arrival. Double charged, took 7 days for refund.

Room was clean and in good shape. My room was right above the kitchen, so bonus points for the smells. Unfortunately, no yogurt at breakfast, but still put everything else out for the yogurt bar? Odd choice.

The check-in process was easy and pleasant. Room seemed very clean and well equipped. The motel is kind of a labyrinth with no clear directional signs to guide you to your room. Once inside my room I found that all the room doors literally SLAMMED when they shut creating A LOT of noise till late in the night. At approximately 1:00 A.M. the smoke/fire alarm went off. At first I thought it was just my room but shortly after I climbed on top of my Bed and tried to silence the alarm, it finally stopped sounding. Shortly after it was silenced, I heard Fire trucks coming down the street. I got partially dressed and went down to the reception desk. I called several times asking if anyone was there.
