Green Valley Camp

Green Valley Camp is part of the Peoria Park District (PPD). It is part of the PPD River Trail System and is located in between Detweiller Park and Robinson Park. It has a ghost town type feel to it. You can park just about anywhere at the trail head. The Green Valley Trail connects to the Robinson Trail by a tunnel that runs under Illinois Route 6. At the trail head there is a clean bathroom facility. The trail has some challenging hills but it is in great condition.

Old Christain Day Camp that is now part of the Peoria Park District. It appears that they are in the process of slowly but surely refurbishing this beautiful setting.there are nice trails through the hills and canyons(for lack of a better word) that you can get a nice bit of exercise/hiking when using. This seems to link up with the Detweiller Park trails system.

This is a hidden gem of a park. One of my favorites in Peoria. It is part of the Illinois River Bluff Trail. There are streams. Lots of turkeys. It is an old summer camp. There is a train caboose and a few small shelters. The trails within the confines of this park are the best of the trail system.

Got jumped by some crazy guy when i went there at 10pm. Kinda my fault. he wanted a block of cheese and when i didnt have it he screamed but was still really cool

This was once a nice campsite. Now in September 2022, all the buildings are locked and boarded up including the restrooms, water and electric is shut off.
