SpringHill Suites by Marriott Palm Desert

+ Let's face it. You're hear for the location and the price. Either you are playing golf, tennis or softball. + Great location. Restaurants: Chez Pierre down the road is Excellent, and Cork Tree is quite good. + Good internet connection. + Spacious rooms + People who work here are very nice, esp. front desk - very helpful. + Guests are all there to have a good time and super happy. - Room air conditioner is UNDERNEATH a table you have to move (the table) to access the settings of said air conditioner. - Bathroom showers have some black mold in them. Maid service did not include any once-over of the bathroom floor. - No safe in the room. - Breakfast is "served" at 6:30 but all the choices don't come out until 7:00 am. So when the hungry golfers arrive for early tea times, it's just cereal

It is evident that the staff is poorly trained. My bill was for $905.00. The authorization was for $950.00. Why? The general manager’s response was “I told you exactly why because incidentals is $20 a night and that Marriott's system rounds up they don't authorize exact amounts that is not anything that anyone at the hotel has any control over.” ||$20.00 a night or $20.00 per stay? You get a different answer depending upon whom you speak to. It appears to me that Marriott’s system rounds up to the next $50.00 for the authorization. Fine. If that is so, the front desk staff and the manager should know about this and explain this to the guest.||The general manager staed the following: “hold is $20 per night and Marriott systems round they don't do exact amounts. I only stayed one night. Was in town for an event and didn't want to drive 3 hours home.. Room was spacious and pretty clean. The room was stuffy so I turned on the A/C it was extremely loud. I did see a dead bug near the bed closest to the window. Thankfully no live bugs. The location is great very close to Walmart, Target, whole foods and many restaurants to choose from. The front desk staff need more hospitality training. It was very transactional. I wasn't greeted a welcome or a Thank you for staying at the hotel. I guess Marriott doesn't have the same charm as it used to. I most likely won't be back.

Positive: The check in was smooth, the room was clean and well stocked with the necessities. Negative: no regular sliced bread or fruit options for breakfast

Warning! Never pay for your hotel through Booking.com ! They took my money and gave me a meaningless confirmation number. I arrived at a hotel in November 2025 and they did NOT have a reservation for me even though I had already paid ! I was distraught and their Customer Service stonewalled me and after almost an hour on the phone, did nothing at all. I had to buy my room on the spot and pay again. On two previous trips, we stayed at this hotel. The suites are comfortable and clean, and my kids love the large, shallow pool. The service is good and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with good food options and plenty of seating. The location is also very good for shopping and dining.
