Marriott's Shadow Ridge I-The Villages

Great resort overall with decent staff to support. Plenty of pools to enjoy and decent pool bars. The resort is quite well spread anx organized. The front desk was really courteous and text message based support and updates were very helpful. There is a Giuseppes Pizza and Pasta which is not owned by Mariott but sits right next to Front desk. Thats the only full size restaurant. Poolside bar and grill dont have lot of options and pricey. We dint have car so that also put us to disadvantage since, its located atleast 10 -15 mins by car away from restaurants and conveniences. Parking is $25/day which seems little high even though the resort has ample of it unused. The room was dated and bathroom door and front door did not close properly because of loose screws. Came back to stay at this property for our third visit here, and we were in the Roadrunner Village Building 2700 again, this time in a 2 BR unit on the top floor, facing the 16th fairway and a mountain view as well. Check in was easy and fast and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The quiet pool in Roadrunner Village was very mellow this time and the whole vibe of the property was calm and peaceful this visit. Good amenities in the unit and on property overall. We always enjoy our visits at this property and would gladly return for another visit.

My wife and son stayed at the Marriott Shadow Ridge for 4 nights for New Years between 12/30/2025 and 1/3/2026. We had stayed here back in 2019 and had a really good time. Unfortunately since COVID, they had made some changes which I feel made this resort less desirable, mainly that they converted the movie theater area into a multi-use area. The theater is moved to the room where they had an area with video games. They also stopped showing multiple movies throughout the day, now just 1 kids movies vie during the daytime at the theater and another movie in the evening at the Snakebite pool. They do still offer plenty of daily activities for both adults and kids. All the pool areas were well maintained. There are plenty of people playing pickle ball at the converted tennis courts. Positive: I love the cleanliness of the hotel. The pool was nice and heated for the kids. The kids love the Waterslide and we love the hot tub. It was not too far from shopping and restaurants. Negative: I didn?t like it advertise free parking when the parking was $25/day. Also it said the rooms had kitchenette. I was expecting at least a stove top to do some basic cooking. And most of the activities you had to pay extra for. other resorts those are free

I booked two rooms and tried to extend my stay. I was told that I need to call the reservation line and they set up a second reservation but did not book the same type of room. I went to the front desk in the front desk said they had it taken care of for my extended stay for another four days. Of course in the app it did not show the new reservation so I went to the front desk and they could not do anything because they don’t do anything locally. So now I have too many people that I have to cram into one room and they wouldn’t even waive the fees if we cancel the room so we can move to a better resort. I have had multiple experiences with Marriott and I think I’ve had a problem with every single one of them. I’m done being a loyal for this company. I would stay away.
