Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II

My husband and I highly recommend this property! The level of service is exceptional. Peter Antinoph (General Manager) responded promptly to my initial email inquiry and set the tone for an outstanding experience. The on-site team of Imelda Nava Alva (Front Office Director) and Kenia Castro (Assistant to the General Manager) was consistently friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and thorough. They accommodated every single request with ease and speed. The rooms are quiet and beautifully furnished with a clean and lovely decor. FIVE STARS. We will definitely be back!

On 2/20 during lunch time at the main pool’s The Water's Edge Bar & Grill inside Marriott, we experienced racism. My family is Asian, and almost all the other guests around us were white. We sat at a visible table for over 15 minutes and the server clearly saw us but never came. When a white family arrived behind us, they were served immediately with menus and water. The difference in treatment was very obvious. We had to go to the bar ourselves to order drinks and I still tipped 20%. Even then, no one brought drinks to our table. When we asked for water, the response was unfriendly. The staff member working was a Latina woman wearing a hat. This is a very well looked after hotel. The rooms were lovely, well appointed and maintained, and offered everything for a short or long stay. The property and grounds are just beautiful, and all staff were friendly and helpful. Location-wise, we found it too far from Palm Springs itself to be convenient....we had a lot of functions and things to do in Palm Springs so it felt like we were always on the highway.

I booked a room on a third party website for the Villas I. This was for our 20th anniversary trip. Upon check-in, I was informed that the room I booked and paid a premium for did not exist. I was put in a room at the Villas 2. The young female manager on duty had the customer service skills of a prison guard. I was basically told "tough stuff" and lectured on how i was "gambling" by booking through a third party website. She was disinterested in assisting or providing any solutions. Basically take it or leave it. Treated horribly just because I didn't book the room directly through Marriott. The front desk staff looked embarrassed. Other than that, the property was decent. Service staff was very nice.

This place is absolutely amazing just beautiful. Well maintained, clean up to date rooms, the golf course is very nice, a players course, the food is good and the entire staff will give you first class treatment!
