SpringHill Suites by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Miramar

Stayed at this hotel for my stay in Florida during my friend's wedding vow renewal. It was in the middle of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which made it somewhat convenient to go to things in either location. There is no room service at the hotel, but there is a free breakfast and a pool, both of which are nice amenities. They also had Dips in the little store and they were nice.

This review is long overdue but I’m so happy to know that Patricia still works here after I’ve been coming to this hotel for about a year now for business and she is simply the greatest and sweetest person ever. She always looks out for me when it comes to me checking in and finding the perfect room since I’m a light sleeper. Customer service is always great here but Patricia has always really stood out and it makes my stay even more enjoyable. Honestly for this to be a 2 star hotel it’s very nice and you can’t beat the price in some occasions. Sometimes breakfast could be a little better but I really don’t have many complaints.

I normally don’t ever start with the negatives, but let’s just get it out of the way. If a block of rooms is reserved at a set price, how does the discounted rate “run out” when someone calls to book within that block? After thinking the issue was resolved, I arrived to check in only to be told that the Sales Director had changed the rate from the discounted price to a higher one—with no explanation. And of course, he doesn’t work weekends, so nothing could be corrected. I was told a message would be left for him to contact me, but you guessed it… no follow-up call ever came. It’s not about the amount; it’s the principle. And no, I won’t blast his name. Now, moving on. I truly enjoyed staying at this property. I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel, from September 12th to September 15th. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below the standards I have come to expect as a loyal Marriott member.||My family and I arrived late at night around 1:00 a.m. after a long flight.
