Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale SW/Miramar

This was one of the most disturbing hotel experiences my family has ever had. My parents and my elderly grandmother were staying at this property. By 6:00 PM, the room still had not been cleaned. When they politely asked the front desk about it, the situation escalated in a shocking and unprofessional way. The housekeeper became extremely defensive and caused a public scene rather than simply addressing the issue. Instead of de-escalating, management handled the situation in the worst way possible. The staff’s behavior toward my family was hostile, dismissive, and completely unacceptable, especially given that an elderly guest was involved. Ultimately, the hotel used this interaction as a reason to force my family out of the property, by calling the police!! I was baffled! and it was

The hotel itself is nice and has been remodeled a few years ago, so it still looks and feels very fresh. The rooms are quiet and well laid out. I have stayed here before, and the beds are really good, allowing for a good night's sleep. The bedding was replaced when they remodeled, and everything is very well kept.||The service for Bonvoy members is not very good. I was not acknowledged upon arrival, no upgrade, no bottled water, and no perks, really. The agent at check-in just didn't care. It was about 11 PM when I got there, and I guess they just didn't want to be bothered.||I had requested and was granted a late check out. The next morning, housekeeping was banging on my door despite the DND being on there—no training, no class, no respect for the guest's sleep.

This is an awesome property with friendly staff. I love that they are 5 minutes away from a mall. Very convenient location. Room for improvement: 1. The walls are VERY thin. I was woken up way too early in the morning from a couple having a little morning fun. 2. They started charging for parking which I think is ridiculous since they are not even at a prime location like downtown. 3. Room needs to be cleaned better. Whenever I see a dirty room, this is a reflection upon its management pushing housekeeping staff to clean a room within a short amount of time. There were hair in the bathroom wall and a cup stain by the bedside table. It’s crazy that hotels are cleaning the rooms every other day(with Covid being the excuse) and still charge guests the same rate but they get to have a 50%

The lady working at the front desk in the morning is rude, not a customer service professional, shows no empathy, threatened to tresspass me from the building (a paying customer being threatened) think about that! I will never support any other Marriott properties as long as it employs unqualified, unapologetic , triggered individuals who can not determine between a request and a personall attack. Your front desk perso ell has a serious problem with taking customer complaints and confusing them as personal attacts. Anyone who cannot make this distinction should not be at your front desk. Wish i could give you a name but the black female refused to identify. Marriott use to be a brand you can trust. Never again.

Another of the many hotels in this location that serves cruisers on the way to or from a cruise. Because of this the hotel felt crowded, it was impossible to get a table for the buffet breakfast for example. The rooms were not the cleanest nor well-appointed and the service was very impersonal. The location was good - there was a mall nearby with lots of amenities.
