SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Southwest

The location is 5 miles or so from the airport. Very modern and clean. Friendly and helpful front desk associates. Never stayed at Springhill before but my room was very nice and cozy. Perfect fit for a working professional. Separate desk area with lighting. Comfy sofa to watch TV and soft bed for resting up. I'd definitely go back again.

Positive: Ample parking and well maintained grounds. Free EV charging has 2 NACS (Tesla) chargers and 1 CCS1 EV charger. Negative: There is only power on one side of the bed, making charging for 2 obnoxious. There isn’t a single place to hang anything in the room such as a jacket or bag.Terrible quality mattress. Possibly the worst sleep I’ve gotten in any hotel in decades.

The aircond sound was a bit louder than usual. Anyway, it was a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately, other hotel guests did not do well to leave those spots for EVs to charge, so they were often blocked. Not going to knock the hotel for that; but, perhaps if the spots weren’t the closest to the door, people would have been less inclined to block the chargers. Regardless, having the chargers is definitely a plus for those that can use them. The room has a nice layout; but there were definitely some oversights in its design. I've stayed at several hotels recently, and this one has some of the worst customer service. They don't even respect the rooms you book. When I arrived, a guy with absolutely no customer service skills told me, without any shame, "I don't have double beds, I have one king-size bed and a sofa!" I told him we were four adults and wouldn't all fit, and that I had booked and paid for two queen beds. This jerk just said, "I don't have any other rooms." Of course, I had to take it because I had no other option; I'd already paid. The next day I spoke with the manager, and I didn't even receive an apology. Terrible customer service.
