SpringHill Suites by Marriott Birmingham Colonnade/Grandview

Ladies at front desk was nice and polite but the room definitely lack cleanliness. The was bottles, and bottle tops hair ties underneath the bed. The sofa bed when we pulled out was dirty and had hair on it. Room was outdated

The good- -front desk staff consistently friendly -quick response through Bonvoy app messaging -room seemed mostly clean -received a good rate (local Marriott is a competitor but much more expensive and the lounge there was closed the last time I went so why bother?) and I don’t like Fairfield, which is right next door The bad -no SEC channel?!?!?!?!?!?? We couldn’t watch the Auburn Kentucky game (although that turned out to be a blessing in disguise 😢🐯🦅) -maintenance seems to be off there game—broken water fountain with no sign it would be repaired and no other water available in the common area (but front desk gave us water bottles for free when we asked 🙂) -breakfast too late on the weekends for soccer families, but luckily they had some items available early 🙂 -please add hot chocolat

I purposely choose this brand of hotel if there is one at my destination because I always have good experiences and find it to be a good value. This location was not what I expected. The room was suspiciously dirty. We booked a room for 4, and there were not enough linens in the room. I will not stay here again.

Dingy room! MEH!! The lobby area seems nice, clean & modern. The rooms fall short! The late night front desk lady was nice and the morning front desk staff seemed nice. Our room was ok. It felt grimy. We only had 2 full size towels and we were in a double queen bed room and both towels were dingy and worn looking. Not clean, crisp and white. The wash cloths were stained. The shampoo & conditioner bottles were completely empty. There was no extra bedding for the couch bed. We had to request that from the front desk. The blanket that came with the bedding was rough and crusty feeling. We left it in the bag it came in. Gross!! One of the queen beds down comforter was basically another sheet.
